Make It Easy For Everyone!
Doing a Class-Reunion-Fundraiser is usually a desperate attempt by the Class-Reunion Committee or possibly the Class President and a few Alumni to find a way to notify all Alumni that a Reunion is going to take place. Alumni need to know how much money to send to get a place rented for the Class-Reunion. Entertainment, food, nametags, decorations, notification mailings, and catering are just a few of the other things the Class-Reunion-Committee needs to worry about. There’s got to be a better way!
Enter the Digital age of computers and the Internet. If Your Class graduated in the past 5 years or so, then you might have registered all the Class on a computer somewhere. Your School probably has a Web Site where alumni can go to check on Reunion dates and Class news. If you graduated prior to the Information Age then it might me a little trickier to find all the class members. If you’ve been involved with staging a Class-Reunion then you already know of sources to get the Alumni addresses and all the headaches of doing a Reunion. Suppose you got a domain name for your Class. Something like (Your School Name)alumni.com, or Classof19??Yourschool.com. Now with a Class domain name you could easily send a postcard to the Alumni and tell them about their new domain and for a few dollars more you could even build a website for your Group. Ok, you were elected to be in charge of the Class-Reunion by the class before you graduated. Check the fine print on your election contract and you’ll find it was probably a nonpaying position, Until Now!
Yep, you were elected because the Class knew you were a hard worker and they could depend on you to do it all and do it for free! Once again Fundraiser For All to the rescue! The fine print didn’t say you couldn’t get paid for all your work. Get’em a domain name, build’em a website and keep the Sponsor money for your trouble. The Class? You want them to have money Too? O.K. Give the Class a fundraising Mall Of The World with a link on your Class Website.. Now you can have the next Class-Reunion on a Cruise Ship!
You can scan your Mall address flyers, business cards, and post cards, put them on your new Website and let Class Members use the methods we’ve been telling about using more Sponsors in their area. Well, yes, they’ll be making money to get to the Class-Reunion too, and they’ll also be saying we made the right decision in electing good old “You” to be in charge of the Class-Reunion-Fundraiser.
You know, this would work just as well for the big Family-Reunion too. Haven’t seen Uncle Bob and Aunt Ethel in a coon’s age.
